History of Queensbury Cricket Club
Queensbury CC was formed in 2000 with the merger of Union Croft CC and Yews Green CC. Both clubs had struggled to make
an impact in the Halifax League and Bradford Central League's respectively and both clubs had problems in regard to playing
strength.
The joining of the two clubs ensured that Queensbury would have at least 1 cricket team.
The club has since taken giant strides in its turbulent seven years existence culminating in the winning of the Halifax
League's LIndley Moor Trophy in 2006. We have built a new memorial scorebox, spent thousands of pounds on new ground equipment
and continue to invest heavily in junior cricket and coaching.
All this expense is funded by the effort of the members, sponsorship from our supporters and the help of volunteers.
We are currently looking forward to a succesful 2007 season for our 1st, 2nd and Sunday teams under the guidance of our
director of cricket Gian Singh Virdi and our Executive Committee.
